Vultures are the most threatened group of birds in the world, with the majority of species either threatened or endangered. There are many anthropogenic risks to vultures including poison, contaminants, and disease. We are initiating a project in collaboration with the Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust to track and monitor wild vulture populations in Zimbabwe. We are especially interested in identifying movement and landscape predictors of infectious and non-infectious disease. Work is headed up by Ph.D. student Jon Maxwell.
